When are we going to receive power? This is the exact question millions of Texans are asking. Just days before the month of February being over Texas among many other states found themselves in harsh weather and freezing temperatures.

The state of Texas relies on the first independent system operator (IOS) in the United States. Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) to manage the flow of the electricity in Texas. ERCOT provides power to more than 25 million customers in Texas about 90 percent of the state’s electric load.

The Electric Council Reliability of Texas (ERCOT) knew the conditions of the weather that was coming and how it was going to affect millions of people. Regarding them knowing that information they did nothing to ensure they had a plan and to upgrade their equipment for the winter temperatures.

CNN

Each hour that went by the number of residents without power increased drastically. The temperatures kept decreasing affecting everyone. Due to the freezing temperatures it caused many water pipelines to explode. In the worst case if the pipes had water flow it lead to cause great damage.

At least 30 people have died in Texas due to the freezing temperatures and carbon monoxide poisoning. More than half of the Texas residents where told to boil water before any usage due to pipe damages.

What is the Gov. Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz doing regarding what is going on in the state they represent? The answer to that is absolutely nothing!

Gov. Greg Abbott in a conference was asked when should residents get power and water back to their households his answer was “I don't know”. Instead he went on live television on an interview with Fox News and was addressing The Green New Deal, and how it was going to negatively impact the United States. When he should have been looking for answers to why ERCOT was not ready for what was coming our way. Ted Cruz was off in a family vacation to Cancun Mexico. He as a senator of Texas should have been helping out the people and making sure they had basic resources. Reality is that Abbott and Cruz where too busy playing blame game rather than taking responsibility.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio — Cortez started a Support Relief for Texas and flew out to Texas to support those families that still need power as well as other supplies. AOC has raised $2 million dollars and all the money donated will be going to different organizations to help feed families.
